Kilwin’s Fudge

Manufacturer: Kilwin’s
Rating 5/5

The awesome neighbors behind my series of Austrian candy recently spent a weekend in Louisville and brought me back some fudge from Kilwin’s Chocolate and Ice Cream shop. According to their website, they specialize in handmade confections. If this fudge is an indication of their products, I can’t wait to try more.

They do a top-notch job of packaging–my fudge, milk chocolate in flavor, was wrapped in wax paper and placed in a burgundy cardboard box, along with a small plastic knife to cut the fudge with.

A lot of us have had bad fudge–grainy, overly sugary, even a little tough. This is not this kind of fudge. The outside is very slightly crunchy and the inside is as smooth and creamy as velvet. The flavor is wonderful too–intense and fully rounded, with the predominate flavor being chocolate and not sugar. It’s incredibly rich, so a small piece goes a long way.

This is worth ordering, if you have a fudge craving.
